Unsubscribing seems to fix it.

(Cost / benefit seems to point that way, by now)

I, too, have been receiving multiple email notifications for each new post to a thread I am watching.

I’ve made some adjustments and we have gone a week without any duplicate emails. Hopefully this issue is finally resolved.
