Some are opened as the existing script; some are opened as “Untitled.”
I can find no preference or reason for this behavior.
How can I stop this behavior and get compiled OSA scripts to open as the actual script and not in a new, untitled window?

Can you provide an example script that does this when opened (please send it to me privately)?
I would not expect to see this happen except in some very rare circumstances (opening documents saved by ancient versions of Script Debugger, or documents that were saved as Template documents on very old versions of MacOS).
