Not being able to create links in posts is rather emasculating. What are the qualifications necessary to prove I’m not a spambot? Had no such issue posting things on macscripter.net.
Worse still, when I tried to post this, I got this error dialog in response.

I think that’s protecting us from roaming bands of spam bots, and it seems to work. Works better than strategies used on other forums I participate in.
Yes, this is one of the ways we defend ourselves from spam bots which have been a problem from time to time. Given a little time, and your continued participation in the forum, the system will automatically promote you to a more permissive level. All of these systems to combat span are never perfect but work most of the time.
This said, I’ve moved you up a level and hopefully that gives you the freedom you need…
