For simple tasks like going to Finder, opening a new folder, naming it
Script Editor can record these actions and replay them once compiled.
On the other hand, in recording mode, Script Editor does not record any action when I open Chrome, for example, enter a URL then close the Chrome window.
Why that?
The Script Editor’s Recording feature depends on each application you interact with publishing your actions. Chrome and most other present-day applications fail to do this. It’s only a few older applications developed when AppleScript recording was a prominent macOS feature (Finder, FileMaker Pro, BBEdit, etc.) that continue to publish this information.
