This feature has always been great, but today I was reminded yet again. I could not find if a particular feature was scriptable in Adobe Illustrator. So I kept changing the item in the UI, then refreshing the explorer menu.

Sadly, I discovered no support for the feature, but Explorer saved me much, much time in determining this to be the case.

So now I’m curious, what’s the feature and what version of AI?

All recent versions of AI CC. Detecting what colors are applied to an entire text frame via the Appearance panel. Or applying color schemes as you can do via the Appearance panel.
