SD8 can't get Full Disk Access

I am running SD8 in a Parallels vanilla VM. I installed SD8 this morning and have done a couple of restarts since.

When SD8 starts it explains that it needs to be granted Full Disk Access. I have done that but, it still pops that dialog.

FDA granted
FDA granted780×699 112 KB

The trouble seems to be not Full Disk Access but, “Files and Folders” access. Here is what the relevant pref pane has:

SD8 can't get FDA
SD8 can't get FDA780×699 104 KB

There is no checkbox beside SD8. So, it is not possible to grant Files and Folders access. Perhaps there is a permissions issue ? I’m stumped.

That’s correct. Once you have given Full Disk Access, access to individual files and folders is redundant.

I’m not sure why you’re getting the dialog each launch, but it may be related to the fact that you’re running from a VM.
