Script Debugger 7’s new “lite” mode will be absolutely free of charge. It contains all the basic editing, debugging and dictionary functions that you need to write your code.

This is great news for promoting AppleScript to new users. I’ll be able to tell everybody to just install this in the same way I tell everybody to just install BBEdit.
