I’ve granted Script Debugger all access rights I could see but this goes on and on…

Unfortunately AppleScript recording is broken in Big Sur. Apple’s security changes have rendered the feature unusable. This is all happening outside Script Debugger’s control and we will remove the feature in a future maintenance release until such time as Apple corrects the problem.
At this stage there are a vanishingly small number of applications which support AppleScript recording.
