Disappointing. There are so many people who script Evernote in one way or another that this has to result in some sort of outcry.
Throwing out that much ballast suggests quite acute pressure on costs.
Not an easy business model to thrive with, and the business paragraphs of the Wiki entry, at least up to 2018, when they go a bit quiet, do suggest fairly challenging head-winds.
A sudden exit might be worse – at least a switch to Electron gives fair warning and time for a bit of preparation for any data migration.
