Is there a guide anywhere that could help someone start from scratch and learn when and how one must use code signing and notarizing to distribute applets and scripts?
I’ve been able to avoid all of that so far, but (hopefully) my users and I will soon be upgrading to more modern Mac OS and I’ll need to start code signing and/or notarizing.
First question, does notarizing replace code signing or do I have to do both?
Shane’s got a few articles on here/the blog that will tell you everything you need to know, pretty much. I think the product page for SD Notary basically covers it all.
My understanding is yes, notarisation replaces code signing in that your applet will be code signed as part of the notarisation process.
