Can't use Safari anymore

I have been using Safari for the forum from the start, but after upgrading my HD it no longer works.

The display is only the black bar across with “Late Night Software” on the left, and the links to the right. The links work. And all of the pages linked to work.

In fact, I go to many pages daily (hundreds?) and this is the only one that’s not working.

I’ve cleared history (which is a pain) and that didn’t help. Any suggestions?

Ed, I’ve briefly caught one or two of your tramatic posts about your upgrade to SSD.
Sorry you’re having all that trouble – I have no idea why.

I just wanted to post that I have no problems accessing LNSW forum, or any other forum, using my new 2019 iMac-27 with SSD. Running Safari 12.1.1 (14607.2.6.1.1) on macOS 10.14.5 (Mojave).

Good luck. I hope you figure it out.

Thanks, Jim! Actually, the upgrade has worked really well, with the exceptions of the things I’ve reported here.

Although I did find one more web page that behaves the same way:

https://www.cbspressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/shows/the-neighborhood/photos

On this page the photos don’t show in Safari but do in Chrome.

  1. Make sure you don’t have any ad-blocking, etc., extensions installed. If disabling them doesn’t help, then:

  2. Restart the Mac in safe mode (hold down shift when booting).

  3. Delete (or backup) this entire folder:

           ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/

  4. Restart the Mac in normal mode.
